my first Airbrushed kit a 1/48 P-39

Postby stephen8718 » Sat Sep 14, 2013 7:28 pm

hi guys here is my Monogram 1/48 P-39 that i completely airbrushed for the first time and i loved it. masking was a pain but the whole experience was great. am looking forward to my next go.
this is not bad little kit with recessed and raised panel lines and went together nicely with only a small gap underneath on the wing to fuselage join. the paints were Testors enamels and the decals are Aeromaster. in the pics it looks like silvering on the kill markings but it is just the light bouncing of the decals as they are okay on the model.

There's no going back now! Well done Stephen, that's an excellent result for your first airbrushed kit.

Can't wait to see your finished "Fitter". Love the scheme, it looks wicked  Not a kit you see around too often. What's it like? It is a repop of an old kit with raised panel lines?

Thanks for sharing and look forward to seeing more of your airbrushed work.

hi Vinny it is the old Kopro kit with very nice recessed lines however a lot of the joins are butt joinsand heavy sprue gates and not much space for nose weight so that will be fun .

I'm surprised at that! Sounds like fun and anything with recessed panel lines gets bonus points. Looking forward to seeing it finished.

Cheers!
