Iron Man Bust

Postby Biskup » Sat Jun 01, 2013 7:58 pm

So I would like to take part in the GB with a bust which was only assembled and primed. Hope that still fits within 20%.
Here are links to some trailers of the documentation I'm going to use :)

The kit is from Knight Models company in 1/10 scale.
Here it is after being painted with automotive primer.

Ooooooh excellent! Can't wait to see what you do with this one Lukasz!! [smilie=banana.gif] I ordered an Iron Man figure last week so I'll be adding it as my second movies build. I have an idea on how I'll be painting it but I'll be watching closely how you go about it ;)

Thank you chaps :)
d_anonymous_modeller - Well I also hope so :)

Next stage of work on Iron Man.
I painted everything with Metalizer paints from Testors in such a way as to get the already shaded areas.

Then it rubbed it with old toothbrush.

The next step was to ad first color, namely red. Best suited for that would be old Humbrol Red Clear unfortunately I don’t have enough left to paint the whole bust. The choice fell on Red Klar from Revell.

Once red was dry I masked of the mask area and painted it with Golden color from Revell. I then highlighted it with the addition of silver by Testors.

Everything came out a little cold, so I decided to warm it colors by spraying a thin layer of Humbrol Clear Orange.

Now it's time for silver details, which I painted silver color of Vallejo.

To be continued... Soon.

I love it.
There is a difference between the clear reds from those brands.
I think that's good so youi can use that to your benefit.

The clear orange worked well as a filter on the red....I think the colours look already very realistic on the pics.

What's left: highlights, shadow, eye slits ?

Nearly done so plenty of time for another one?

Wow! How awesome is this! Love what you did to get the shading Lukasz. Excellent tonal variation using the clear paints... nice touch with the clear orange too :DX

Quality! Very inspirational.

Simson - Yeah it’s great that the colours a different form each brand but the Humbrol one was the best and it's not produced any more :( Left were the panel lines, eye's and some clear coat on top of this but that's done already :) I will be making one more and it's going to be better and more accurate to the movie :)

Vinny - Thank you :)

d_anonymous_modeller - Yeah it's not too big but it was quick to paint :) So where do we post the finished ones??

Ok I did manage to finish this bust. It's now gluing to the final stand and if I have time today I will make some pictures :)
