The Simpsons 737

Postby Vinny » Thu Mar 12, 2015 11:51 pm

The GB is right up my street as I'm a fan of special schemes and colorful models. I think I'll try to get a couple of builds done during the six months but I'm going to keep them relatively easy. I'm going to start with Western Pacific Airlines FOX Network logo jet advertising The Simpsons. It doesn't get more colorful that this! I've been wanting to make this aircraft for a long time and I picked up an updated release of the kit (by Daco Skyline) at Telford last year so it's been staring at me since. It was an easy choice! ;)

Here's a photo of the real deal…

This is going to be an OOB build so I'm really looking forward to this as it should be a nice build with a kit that falls together. It's going to be my first time making a Daco kit so it's something new for me to get stuck into. It's all good! 8-)

Roll on the weekend!

 I said a couple as in two! That's pretty reasonable I think… if I chose easy to build kits like this one ;)

Anyways, I got not time to start this kit over the last few days as I was out with visitors who were around for a while. So all I got to do was unbox it and check it out. I need to start with painting the internal gear bay before I glue the thing together. I was hoping just to be able to get on with the build. Nothing is ever straight forward!

Hopefully I'll get cracking on it over the next few days.

Cheers!

Always feels 'liberating' not to have to do ANY cockpit let alone start with cockpit (fiddly seatbelts etc etc ) on a build .Didnt think there were too many options beyond ancient Airfix 737 .Looks like a nice kit .Yellow IS tricky to get right ...
