I have this in the stock pile and said it is a perfect time to try a bare metal finish for the first time. It also be my first time using alclad which I am kind of scared of :D

So this will be my wingy thingy for the build.

Yeah but I have to go outside because they stink. It is cold and dark, the buggyman might get me.

Excellent choice of wingy thingy Lego. I love a good bare metal finish. Don't be scared of the Alclad lads… it's easy to you and ready for airbrushing out of the bottle. Main thing is to get the surface prepped and flawless as any imperfection will show through. Keep the coats light and the air pressure low. Couldn't be any easier! It doesn't smell too bad, I think the cellulose I spray through the airbrush afterwards is a lot worse!

Looking forward to seeing the progress with this.

Ok, for a build straight out of the box this kit was going really well. It is a fantastic kit and I highly recommend it to anyone.

However, just do yourself a favour and chuck the decals away. Shriveling up and falling off for no apparent reason will drive you mental. The white on the decals is not strong enough and is too transparent causing all kinds of problems for overlapping stripes. The worst problem though is they don't frikkin fit in any way what so ever. Some are so bad you would think they are for a different plane.

Rant over. Going to get another set of decals from somewhere and rip the stripes off the bottom and spray them on, which I probably should have done in the first place. Seems a lot of the decals for this plane are oop now. Well the ones I want anyway.

Just don't understand why the decals just blistered and dried up like leaves. Just blowing on them and they fell off the right side. Anyway just thought I would update my build. Was hoping to do a good build for ISM after all the great tips you guys have given me and well just wanted to do this better.
