It looks like a nice project to build to me.....great result sofar.
So it actually has a lot of colours.
And then it has to look all 2nd hand materials and worn paint etc.
Nice challenge so!

ive watched the race a lot............at the start its quite clean and polished but with worn bits, at the end the pod is dirty and grubby............my plan is to do it at the start :D

got most of one engine done..........the other is catching up......tomorrow i shall have the time to do some of the colour bits, then it will be final assembly

theres 3 doses of a black enamel/thinners wash....the first hardly looked like i had put any on so i got a bit heavy handed with the next one :lol:

I thought so! Those washes definitely paid off Paul. They really made the details pop. Great stuff! :DX

getting there

still need to add the spill air doors and the air scoops to add

the air scoops have been painted with silver then had the hair spray trick done and topped with a beige colour (actually Vallejo wood).....wanted to try and get the weathered effect that appears in the movie.....had a bit of a strange reaction....the paint 'cracked' on a couple of the scoops.....found out it is all down to surface tension apparently but it sort of adds to the weathered look but i shall make sure the dodgy ones are on the bottom when mounted lol
