Man that is one big sucker alright, bigger than i thought it would be by a long shot, looking good though, the wing roots seem to have come out ok, well done on that one. As for the varnish i use the humbrol stuff and it seems to do ok, im sure there will be plenty of other suggestions coming along.

Looks great Barry! :DX You're pretty much done then. Very impressive model at that size. Colour looks good... what did you use?

As for a matt varnish... Mr Top Coat is great stuff but difficult to get hold of. The Humbrol stuff out of the can should do the job though. I'd probably consider a satin coat though depending on how flat that Humbrol stuff is.

Thanks for posting!

Thanks lads... The wing roots look ok from a distance but they really were a bugger and are by no means perfect but look half decent from a couple of feet away lol

Vinny I used some of the tamiya aerosol stuff.. Very impressed with it.. Bit on the expensive side though as this monster used nearly the whole can but well worth it for the finish it gave...highly recommended

Thanks for the varnish info too!

Damn that's cool! 8-) Great result Barry :DX And spray flat varnish from the art shop?! Well I never! It turned out really good. What brand was it? It looks like a good alternative to the more expensive brands.

One to be proud of Barry! [smilie=first.gif]

Lovely kit Barry and well done on the end result she came out very well man the finish is top notch and looks great, the size is great too, its a great story about how before he passed away they brought Jack Northrop round to view the plane which was the realization of his life's work to see the flying-wing a reality, the politics of the time forced him to cut up and scrap all those amazing YB aircraft which was tragic, she will make a savage display piece :o)b
