Vallejo Chipping Medium

Postby flashinglizard » Fri Jan 06, 2017 12:50 am

Hi,
As a fairly new to modelling person I am trying different techniques out.
I had this Vallejo Chipping Medium for a good while lying here.
Tested it out recently and was pleasantly surprised at how well it turned out.

Sprayed mr. hobby metallic silver. A semigloss clear. Then Vallejo Chipping Medium.
I found it fairly thick to apply. Wasn't sure if was to be thinned. So I applied it from the bottle. Took a while but got a coat on.
Then dark green was applied. I was too eager to start the chipping process and the green just ran off.
Left it for a couple of days.
Then a wet paint brush to start the cool chipping effect.
I guess it IS so easy to over weather models :-)

That's a cool effect Derek, I use this stuff for doing the dirt and dust effects on my AFV's, I just spray some earth and dust colours over the chipping medium and take most of it off as I've done on my recent KV-8.
Cheers, Owen
