Thanks Paul and we're all glad you enjoyed yourself at the Model Fair. As far as I know this is a model of the famous Lotus Type 79 1978 by Tamiya in 1:20 scale. There's also a model of it by Hasegawa but I think, if memory serves me correctly, that this is the Tamiya kit. Both are fine models but the Tamiya is a little more expensive. You wouldn't go wrong with either of them as a present that's for sure.

I'm not certain of their availability in Ireland but you can always get them from online retailers like Hobby Link Japan. Here's the Tamiya (out of stock at the moment) and here's the Hawegawa version.

The Tamiya one will set you back almost €70 to get it from the UK

if its a first build i Would recommend the Tamiya one but Hasgawa are also Very good, if you buy from hlj you will pay about the same to have it in time for Christmas with shipping

Would you believe I asked on the forum of the club who owned the table and they didnt even know what was on display there so they couldnt help. @o)

Someone Mentioned to me today that anyhing left over should be out into an aucton, Bit of fun really but time consuming, Might be a an idea next year.
