Decals, change of colour.

Postby LiamD » Wed Feb 15, 2017 7:20 pm

Based on the title, 'there is no such thing as a stupid question', how about this one for size. Has anybody ever tried to change the colour of a decal, say a pinstripe line by spraying it another colour first, then applying it.

Hi Liam,
I haven't tried it but I have painted a decal on the sheet & found that when you apply it to the model the paint on the decal cracked. It still went on the model but you notice the small cracks up close.I was using enamels back then. Also if you are spraying the decal if you use tape to mask it - the tape might pull the decal when your removing the tape.Try it on some spare decal sheet & let us know how you get on.He who dares wins n what not.
