1/16 GERMAN WINTER FIGURES

Postby BrIAN332 » Tue Nov 06, 2012 11:58 am

Hey lads these are some of my 1/16 scale figures from tamiya and dragon, they include the german machine gunner wearing the greatcoat and carrying the MG42,also is tamiyas german infantryman wearing the winter reversible uniform and the third figure is dragons feldwebel also wearing the winter reversible uniform.i wanted to depict these two figures wearing the revevsible uniform with the white side out to blend with the groundwork and the scenes that i wanted to portray.

Some excellent figures you got there Brian. Nice job! I really like how well that branch looks as a tree. Great to see what you can do with bits lying around.

cheers lads, was pleased with how they turned out,im trying to improve all the time with the flesh tones and shading in around the equipment on the figures,i like the pose of these three and i think they all go well together in their winter uniforms.that branch was just what i was looking for and fitted perfectly in the base and in scale with the figure and his pose,im always trying out new things for bases and groundwork, .tamiya and dragon have produced some excellent figures in this scale and the detail on them is excellent, cheers,Brian. :o)b

Cheers lads, the bases are from dragon 1/16 figures that i had leftover spud and used for the two tamiya figures. The groundwork was a mix of pollyfilla and no more nails mixed and shaped to suit the figures
and raised to the height/depth i needed to work with after which the painted figures are set in the bases,i added the 'grass' then and the stones etc,the mix is great to work with as it nice and soft and can be shaped easily.
The 'snow' George is just basiclly the color of the groundwork base and lightly added to the tree in places and painted lightly with white paint and some earth tones added to the ground also until get what i think looks acceptable anyhow.
Mostly trial and error and experimation and was happy with how they turned out.cheers,Brian :o)b
