"Rebel Yell" : Dublin 1916

Postby BrIAN332 » Sun Mar 27, 2016 10:05 pm

With the year and week thats in it i really wanted to do something in my own small way in relation to the Easter Rising of 1916.

Ive had the idea for a small 1916 barricade dio for a while, and so this is what i came up with with, well, started anyhow

Most of the materials for the barricade comes from Miniart, the base again is one i picked up over in Telford

The solitary Rebel so far is a Zvezda fig and the plan is to add two more with plenty of tweeking planed with figs that are in the stash, so hopfully ill be able to finish off this one.................soon :o|

Class idea Brian! Looking forward to seeing you work your magic with this one. Great subject for the year that's in it and I like that you've chosen to model something more unusual for the Rising.

Thanks chaps, hopfully this will turn out as planed.............some work over the last while.

Changed the base, got a timber one for extra height and just perfect for the size of the dio

Tweeked a Rebel, happy enough with him, maybe change again, I think three figs in total should be enough, restricted by space anyhow :D

Another bit of progress and more ideas opening up......thinking of incorporating a small Tricolor into the dio to add some color an also to fill up the side of the base, ill prob be adding in a black n white photo of Dublin during the rising on the opposite side as a backdrop.......but thats for the next stage

Painted the cobbles, will add some more washes in time, adding in more rubble around the barricades
