G Scale Outdoor Garden Railway

Postby Georgeconna » Mon Sep 24, 2012 10:49 pm

HI Laddos, Day off today but no rest for the wicked. Somewhere in a undisclosed location in North Cork earthworks have begun to enable a large enough G Scale railway to be built. The piccies tell the story:

Wow! That is some size track. This is going to be a sight to behold when it's done. Looking forward to seeing the progress on this one and I hope you and your Dad will keep the momentum going with the colder days creeping in. If you do it'll be up and running for the (few) good days next year.

Delighted to see your Dad has finally started this project as it's been on the cards for a while now. Keep us posted on the updates [smilie=pdt_popc1.gif]

I like the crashed fighter find... there's a nice little restoration project right there for you. If you're bored and have nothing else to do

The pictures showing the work at initial stage. G Scale is best decision for outdoor work. Scaling can be helpful for exact measurements and best alternatives to meet the plan objectives.

Well a year later just about and today I just finished the track bed, we have dug out a pond as well so next is the liner, Fill in and cement up the incline and the the track so I would say the end of the month and we will be running trains!!. Landscaping afterwards, Hard work but enjoyable.

Wow! That looks fantastic George! Is that going to be a bridge over the pond? And a little tunnel too? Great project to get you away from the bench and enjoying the fresh air. Looking forward to seeing the next update.
