MIR 071

Postby Georgeconna » Fri Nov 30, 2012 1:17 am

Hi lads,

Another Stalled on going to be Restarted, Again an MIR kit with Etch and white metal, Some of the whitemetal parts are a bit on the heavy side so turned brass ones will be used:

Heres where she is at the moment:

Moulding was a bit soft so lots of re scribing is needed to bring back the detail

The Fan vents where filed out, loads of dust again

Marty San, These were posted from Japan but you can get these in England as well now, The lads at the airshows have them on sale, I've ask Marks to get them in but they cannot find the supplier apparently.

Well the mojo is back and I have cleared some other work so this is back on the bench.

I have sprayed it using revell satin white, The Masked the white lines using 1mm masking tape. Then Sprayed the Black, Masked off that and the Phoenix Precision Orange.

I got the Front Chevrons on bit they are way too small hence the two white lines on the front. I need to paint in the black when the decals dry completely. Micro set was used for the setting solution.

Thats it for now.

Got the Front Chevrons on and painted out the bits the needed to be covered with Matt black. This will be glossed over so you wont see the paint job,,,,I hope.

Need to varnish this then the decals, hand rails, and lights
