Used Mr. Surfacer 1000 light spray for base coat. Left overnight.
Then for preshading I didn't want black. Decided to mix grey and some flat black. Looking at it now I think I may have done it too light.
This is my first time using an airbrush [smilie=hypnotised.gif]
I see a lot of videos about detailing the cockpit...but I think ill brush past that on this first airbrush model attempt.

That looks good (especially for your first time using an airbrush) but I think it's too light. You'll probably lose that pre-shading when you put on the paint. The shading you're looking at right now is nearly what you want after the paint goes on.

Looks like a really cool kit and great potential for weathering and battle damage. Plus a nice woodland base.

Great video by the way! :DX

i would recommend using a scrap kit to test things on before committing until you know what you are after and are more confident with the ab,

But you are off to a good Start :D

Work in progress...

Yesterday I decided to do some gray mr.hobby spray coat.
I wasn't sure what was wrong but it was more thinner than ink coming onto the model.
I realised (after nearly using up the bottle) I hadn't shook the bottle enough before opening it...Most of the pigment was at the bottom..
Was disheartening but ill put it on the learning curve timeline :-)

So today I put a mixture of paint on my AT-ST...Not sure how its going to turn out really [smilie=pdt_nunu.gif]

So I'm nearly ready to put this puppy to bed. Did some initial weathering with Tamiya weathering master.
Might try my hand at a dark wash..Then I think a clear semigloss ?..Not sure..Haven't bought a clear coat yet

your initial weathering is pretty good for a start, but there is always room for improvment, depeding on how far you want to go.

have a look at this, 58mins long by Mig Jimenez

Also this, This is what i used learn my weathering , I hope these will help you learn some more stuff :)
