Revell 1/1200 Bismarck

Postby The Greenhorn » Sat Jun 24, 2017 11:30 pm

Here is my 1/1200 Revell 'Bismarck'. Really enjoyed the detail work here and one of my first models back as an adult modeller. Looking forward to honing some skills and doing a better job on my next model, the 'Roma'.

It's a 1/1200 from the revell mini ship series. I sprayed the hull and superstructure and brush painted the rest. I hope to get an airbrush soon but I'm pleased with the result with what I had to work with. The display box was actually a makeup box turned upside down that in bought in Sostrene Grene in Cork for 4 quid.

Cheers, am working on a plan for a modelling station and airbrush will be a feature. Yeah, I like the 1/1200 scale but will not be exclusively sticking to it.

For a first model back in the hobby, and brush painted, that is really impressive! :DX

Keep up the great work John!

Thanks for he kind words Vinny! The truth is it's my third model back. First model was a Ford Trimotor plane and the Qe2 1/1200. Both of these were built in haste and tbh I'm not happy with them. The Bismarck was the first one I paid close attention to and took my time. I will post pics of the others later however.

You could not airbrush that I reckon unless your a sadist!!, it is too small. Maybe the Hull.

Cracking job though, Looks lovely and Neat.
