Heller La Reale de France

Postby kpnuts » Fri Feb 03, 2017 5:39 pm

Hi all here is one I completed a while ago and sold to my boss's husband.
Was the first time I tried gold leaf and it's got about 40 quids worth on it, even if I say so myself it turned out far better than I expected.
Here is a pic of the box

Just to give you an idea of size this is a 1/6 bike kit in front of it, I thought these kits were big but look it dwarfs them.

I like the ships.

What do you mean by gold leaf? Is that sheets glued onto parts?

Nice model.

It's really thin sheets of actual gold which is stuck on with a special glue called size.

Its all plastic i have a quick and easy for convincing wood (when i find time i will post the soliel royal im eorking on now and will post how i did the wood its really easy. This took a long time as a plastic kit for me, it took 6 mnths i normally knock out a plastic kit like this in 3 mnths but i kept changing the oars as i wasnt happy with the kit ones.
Having said thst been on the soliel a yr now and still see no end in sight.

The wood is terrific, i didn't know it was plastic and you can see the amount of work and detail and time you have put into the project
