Revell 1-350 German submarine U 96 ( Das Boot )

Postby martay » Mon Dec 15, 2014 10:53 pm

Hi again lads, this is a new one for me, my first attempt at a sub, so what better choice than the famous U96. i have to say this was such an enjoyable build, simple to assemble and a really nice result even give my complete lack of experience with this subject, it was seeing one George did in the shop one day that has stuck with me and i just had to try one, as some noticed i did go on a bit of a sub buzz there for a bit and have a few in the stash now which will be getting done :o)b
here are a few pics of the result, only noticed when uploading the pics ive still to finish the flag, but however here it is, hope you like her.

Lovely jubbly Martay! That turned out very nice indeed :DX Always nice to do something out of the comfort zone as it always is very rewarding with regards to new techniques etc. I actually wouldn't mind attempting a sub now… just to try out some different weathering for water.

Well done dude!

Thanks for sharing with us.

I am Google eyed from all these Subs Marty man [smilie=hypnotised.gif] .....Das Boot one of the classics, it was so well made, you could nearly feel the claustrophobia of what it must of been like to have been abroad one of them Submarines.......im sure I have a book back over at home all about the Wolf Packs of the North Atlantic and has some amazing info ,pics etc, I also have two osprey books on the subject, one about the U Boat pens in France , I will bring them along to the Met the day of the Model Fair for you man to borrow

Excellent work :DX
