German Schnellboot Revell 1/72

Postby BrIAN332 » Tue Jun 10, 2014 3:06 pm

Have had this in the stash for ages as well and am doing as a present for my brother in law who is in the Irish Naval Service.

Great kit from Revell with absolute perfect fit and excellent detail in 1/72 scale.

Ive the model more or less complete which was an absolute dream to construct and i would highly recommend Revell ship kits

The kit comes with a nice stand as seen in the pics and the finished model will just be mounted on that, nameplate decals also come with the kit which look excellent

Very interesting subject , always fancied one of these or the Airfix trio of 1/72 small boats .

Cheers Marty, its a beauty of a kit and great price as well, the fit is perfect, one of main things in all models i purchase, lovely clean crisp parts and also a nice size for display as well, whether she will be at the model fair top table is another story :D ........

The detail on the deck is excellent, real sharp detail, which will take a pin wash perfectely, there is ones out there done by modelers together with 1/72 U Boats, deck scenes for example with crews loading on supplys etc, which is a project i would love to try ....i can dream anyhow of someday doing something like that, esp in 1/72 as are so many accessories available, even tho 1/35 is my most desired scale, im geting more and more into models in 1/72 which are excellent for dio possibity projects....plus of course when it comes to SHELVE SPACE my 1/72s aint taking up as much room as my 1/35 armor display..... :o|

Revell also do crew figs in 1/72 as i am sure you are aware for this kit, but as a stand alone model its perfect looking on the stand .....The decal options are also excellent,,,,,i would highy recomend it esp with your interest in U Boats and the Kriegsmarine and all things German :D , id say for twenty euro man get upstairs in marks and grab one, you wont regret buying and building this kit :o)b

I hope to return to work on her soon, but for now its concentrating on my 1/35s for the MET :oX
