1/35 Meng King Tiger

Postby Scanlan » Fri Apr 21, 2017 11:20 pm

Great kit, tough scheme for me though. I didn't have a clue where I was going with the painting and weathering of this, which was fun, so I kept throwing stuff on it until I thought it looked ok. I think in future I might do the dirt and dust before the washes see how that turns out.
Cheers for looking y'all.

Still have a few small details to do if I ever get back to it.
...and Tom sorry...they're Tamiya paint mixes copied from a Mig set I have, I didn't use them 'cos I've little experience with them and so have had problems in the past.

Great finish on that one looks bang on. BTW it sounds to me you did everything in the right order, if you wash after you have done the powders wouldn't that just losse the dust effect?

Dirt and dust after the wash is the best way to do it. but you will find out whats better when you experiment.

And you had better do a base for that one, !!!

have to agree with everyone else that it is and outstanding build and one i hope to emulate in the future. you really nailed it and it would look great in a diorama to really show it to its great finish on it. always enjoy looking at your work.

Thanks a lot lads, It comes with 2 figures which aren't bad, just a little chunky looking, I might add them, it's unlikely I'll put it on a base though, I wouldn't have a clue how to do it anyway and I'm building several models for people that I need to get back to.
