Shilka 1/35 Meng

Postby Lego » Sat Jul 22, 2017 5:28 pm

Started on this months ago. To be honest I have not really been that into it.

Kit is very good apart from the Tracks. The tracks just keep falling apart. I have gone mad trying to weather the tank.

Shelf of doom

I had a thought half way through that i should put some isis flags on her and trioll some russian forums for fun :)

The kit is very straight forward until you reach the turret stage. Make sure you get the guns fitted properly before glueing everything on.

I will come back to it at some point but those tracks make weathering a pita.

Thanks for looking.

I like that camo, very nicely done! Looks like a great kit too with some very sweet detail. A fab build of an unusual subject, it's good that you stuck with it. I know what you mean about the weathering stages on some kits but just push through it and get it off the shelf of doom! :D

Thanks for posting!

Great subject and nice result.
Always liked the look of these ones. What was the Meng kit like to build?

Thanks.

Kit is great to build. Just the tracks are poor. Very little of each track touching each other. If you built it I would recommend gluing them in place and doing everything you need to before attaching the hull. Or buy friuls:)
