my 1/48th Eduard yak-3

Postby stephen8718 » Mon Apr 17, 2017 1:31 pm

Hi guys have finished this off today. it is the Eduard Overtrees kit which i think is originally a Gavia Kit. it goes together very well even though there is no locating pins. It is finished in the markings of the Air show team circa 1946. As usual painted with enamels and AK panel washes. thanks for looking and next on the bench is my Academy Polikarpov I-16.

Lovely uncluttered aircraft and colour scheme. Very elegant like a sports car with wings. :o)b

Cracking job Stephen! :DX You broke up that red very nicely with the shading.

Thanks for posting!

Hi tom if you mean the item under the 5 and the Star then that is the Air Scoop. its fitted nearer to the Front of the Aircraft on the Yak-1 and Yak-9
and in that position on the Yak-3.

Great job Stephen, on what I consider to be a very difficult colour, what's the paint, Humbrol and Tamiya red never turn out well for me.
