1/48 Eduard F6F-5 Hellcat

Postby Scanlan » Fri Mar 03, 2017 1:23 am

More practice for my Helldiver. Although it's the easiest scheme to paint, no blu tack, masking tape, for me it's the hardest to weather. I've used oil paints this time and I'm happy enough, it's much better than my recent Corsair,
Thanks for looking y'all

Also difficult to photograph on my iPad. It'll be in Waynes's Cabinet soon, if he'll have it.

i ran up and down the photographs a few times, and i think its brilliant, the panel lines really stand out, and you can see changes in various panels, seat belts are brilliant and nice touches on the seat, and i really like you that you can see the panel lines running through the decals, and that should grace any cabinet, it would certainly get me taking a look, even if im more into armor builds, The photographs look fantastic on my screen i like the clarity of them as i appreciate the finer details, i have been using an iphone 4s and the less said about that the better  nice work and you can clearly see the effort gone into the build

That's a brilliant model Owen but I'm even more impressed how you managed that weathered look on dark colour paint... outstanding!! [smilie=bow.gif]

Top notch! [smilie=first.gif]

Thanks for sharing!

Cheers Lads, Yeah Tom, them iPad/iPhone cameras aren't the best, I'm getting along without spending a fortune on a real one though..until now when I just took this photo of a hastily painted figure...

on my screen the figure looks outstanding as good as any i have seen, i think the IPad photographs are way clearer than my phone, im just looking at all the paints you have Owen i like the vallejo paints but im still trying to get the best out of spraying model air, the tamiya is great in the airbrush i found the vallejo a bit more tricky, and the photo you have there shows the different shades on the panels really well, on the engine panel there are clearly three types of shading and it continues from there, wonderfully done.
