My 1/48th Academy Mig-29 Fulcrum

Postby stephen8718 » Fri Jun 16, 2017 5:21 pm

Hi Guys if you would like a kit that fits together badly needs lots of filling, filing and sanding and tests your patience then this is the kit for you. i had to keep test fitting everything and even used plasticard to fill the gaps. Admittedly its a lovely aircraft (and the photos dont do it justice)when finished and loaded up with missiles and i would build another one ,but this is no shake and bake. the three tone scheme is painted with various enamels and leftover decals were used for the markings. thanks for looking and next will be my nearly finished Academy P-40 Tomahawk.

Nicely done Stephen. I haven't built the Academy kit but am surprised that it was a bother. Typically Academy stuff is well engineered I'd somewhat inaccurate.

Hi George and Brian. i too have built lots of Academy kits in fact 6 so far this year but the fit of this was not great at all. their P-47s and P-40s go together really well. George maybe i got a bad kit and all yours will be okay.

Oh this is nice! She's a beauty Stephen :DX I'm disappointed to hear about how ill fitting this kit is... because I've got two in the stash [smilie=wall.gif]

I do like a challenge though and the results, as seen here, are definitely worth it!

Thanks for sharing!
