Uploading photos

Postby The Greenhorn » Tue Jun 13, 2017 10:38 pm

Hi Lads,
There are threads referring to photo uploads but I am struggling. What is the easiest way to post a photo here? I have an iphone, ipad or laptop to use.
Cheers,
john.

Hi John,

I guess the first thing is to find out what image hosting service you are using. Once we know that it's pretty straight forward to upload your image to the forum. A lot of us use Photobucket but that's after getting bloated with advertising recently which is killing it and it's just getting too frustrating to use. All the advertising scripts bog down some internet browsers and lead to errors.

Let us know what you're using and we can get you up and running.

Cheers

Thanks Vinny,

I tried to use photobucket last night and follow the directions in the forum but because of the aforementioned advertising etc I found it very difficult to use with all the pop ups and rubbish.

I would like to use Dropbox, is that doable?

Cheers,

John.

No Drop box wont let you link to an image. ive tried or im missing something,

you can use https://imgur.com/ as i have used it when Photobucket is being an ass with the huge load times.

when you upload a file you need to click on said image and select the bbcode, you find this in images which you can access by clicking on your name at the top. First you need to create an account only takes a few seconds

When you make an account Create a new folder and set that as hidden so you dont get asshole comments all over your image and your good to go, let me know if you need some help.

hope this helps.

Oh and this pic is hosted on imgur :)

Quick note on Imgur lads. It is very easy to use I would highly recommend. There is the added bonus that if you use your iPhone for taking the photos (The iPhone 7 has an excellent camera) you can download the Imgur app that allows you to upload the pics via WiFi to your account which are instantly accessible on your PC without the hassle of cables, SD cards etc. Great advice Spud.
