My 1/48th Academy P-40 Tomahawk

Hi guys just finished this off today. it is a lovely kit to put together and had no problems with it. i finished in the RAF scheme and used RAF decals from old stock. usual mixture of enamels and washes.thanks for looking and next up will be my Academy Mig-21. https://c1.staticflickr.com/5/4286/3535...

Hi George and Brian. i too have built lots of Academy kits in fact 6 so far this year but the fit of this was not great at all. their P-47s and P-40s go together really well. George maybe i got a bad kit and all yours will be okay.

Hi Guys if you would like a kit that fits together badly needs lots of filling,filing and sanding and tests your patience then this is the kit for you. i had to keep test fitting everything and even used plasticard to fill the gaps. Admittedly its a lovely aircraft (and the photos dont do it justice...

Hi guys been off the forum for a while with PC problems. will get to reply to all the good work over the next week or so. Here is another of my academy 109s and it is done in Defence of the Reich scheme. As usual painted with various enamels and weathered with Ak and Ammo.Decals are by Eagle Strike....

have to agree with everyone else that it is and outstanding build and one i hope to emulate in the future. you really nailed it and it would look great in a diorama to really show it to its great finish on it. always enjoy looking at your work.

Well done Nigel on your first aircraft in a long time. Nice work on the free hand painting and well done on tackling the rigging as its the one thing that stops me from doing WW1 aircraft.

Hi tom if you mean the item under the 5 and the Star then that is the Air Scoop. its fitted nearer to the Front of the Aircraft on the Yak-1 and Yak-9
and in that position on the Yak-3.
